In short: We're an Ontario fabricator serving St. Catharines and Niagara with mezzanines, platforms, and stairs, stamped to OBC 2024 and welded to CWB W47.1. St. Catharines is about an hour down the QEW, within our install range, with shipping for supply-only orders.

For the QEW and the 406.

St. Catharines anchors Niagara's manufacturing — a powertrain and auto-parts base, metalworking and machine shops, and the agri-food and equipment operations of the wider Niagara belt, spread across Eastchester, Merritton, and Glendale along the QEW and Highway 406. It's a working industrial city where equipment platforms, catwalks, and access stairs are everyday requirements alongside storage decks.

Manufacturing floors reward steel built to a real spec — platforms sized to the equipment, welds to CWB standard, finishes suited to the environment. At about an hour down the QEW, St. Catharines sits within our install range, and modular bolt-together detailing keeps supply-only orders clean when a local crew handles the set.

Measure, stamp, build, install.

  1. 01

    Site measure

A ~30-minute visit to capture the equipment footprint or column grid, access, clear heights, and slab condition across Niagara's established industrial stock.

  2. 02

    Stamped drawings

Engineered and P.Eng.-stamped to OBC 2024 in-house — the set the City of St. Catharines Building Services needs for the permit.

  3. 03

    In-house fabrication

Cut, welded, and finished at our shop to CWB W47.1 — not white-labelled out. Galvanizing or shop primer as the environment calls for.

  4. 04

    Install or supply

On most St. Catharines projects we install with our own crew down the QEW; for supply-only orders we ship contractor-ready with erection drawings.

See the full engineering & install process for how each stage is controlled.

// Who builds it

Span Line Systems is the industrial mezzanine and stair division of Art Metal Canada. Drawings are stamped by a PEO-licensed P.Eng. on staff; welding is done to CWB W47.1 and CSA W59 by our own certified fabricators. We don't white-label the fabrication or subcontract it out — the shop that draws it builds it.

Straight answers.

Do you build equipment platforms for Niagara manufacturers?
Yes — given St. Catharines' manufacturing and powertrain base, equipment-support platforms, catwalks over lines, and process-access steel are core work, all welded to CWB W47.1.
Which St. Catharines and Niagara areas do you cover?
Eastchester, Merritton, and Glendale in St. Catharines, plus the wider Niagara belt along the QEW and Highway 406.
Do you install in St. Catharines or only ship?
Both. St. Catharines is about an hour down the QEW, within our install range; supply-only orders ship contractor-ready with bolt-together detailing.
